 Step 1. Add and verify your website

 Step 2: Set a preferred domain

Select your property on the Search Console homepage . Then text services click the gear icon in the top right corner of your dashboard and select “Site Settings.”

In the ” Preferred Domain  ” section  , you’ll see the option to choose between www.example.com and example.com. There’s also a “Don’t set preferred domain” option. Selecting this option may cause Google to treat the www and non-www versions of the domain as separate references to separate pages.
