Step 2 in the practice of the Drenthe Safety Region

The Drenthe Safety Region decided to set up the platform based on various themes that were devised in advance and that tie in with the various objectives of the organization, such as professional competence, risk management and incident control.

Kick-off meetings were then organised. All employees and fire brigade volunteers were invited to these kick-off meetings. Because the VRD is a decentralised organisation, various meetings were held at various locations in the region. The entire MT, including the director, attended these meetings. These sessions were used to brainstorm on the themes and provide an impetus for the first proposals for savings.

Step 3: Invite people

The crucial step: how do you reach people? Employees are relatively easy to reach via internal communic singapore phone number library ation tools. In order to get them excited about thinking about cutbacks online, it is important to reach them in an accessible way. This can be done differently per municipality. A few examples: giving children flyers at schools, handing out free flowers or smoked sausages in exchange for e-mail addresses, holding information days at the local market or placing an advertisement in the local newspaper(s).

Each municipality has its own means of communication. Think ‘Out of the Box’ and try  online business models to stand out to reach as many residents as possible.
