Facebook already offers a select group of companies

If you own an iPhone, chances are you’ve paid 79 cents to download WhatsApp at some point. And for a while, it even looked like WhatsApp would introduce a paid annual subscription. But after Facebook acquired WhatsApp in February 2014, you no longer have to pay for the app. However, Facebook paid a staggering 14 billion euros for the acquisition; the equivalent of more than 35 dollars per active WhatsApp user. That leaves a big question open: how will WhatsApp make money? In this article, the two most plausible scenarios and a few suggestions from my side. Mark Zuckerberg is welcome to read along.

The strategy that Facebook has used

A to monetize its platform from users and businesses in recent years is likely to be the way the social media  turkey phone number library giant will monetize WhatsApp. That is, first build up user volume and then charge businesses for reach and customer contact.

WhatsApp and Messenger on the road to monetization

And Mark Zuckerberg has indicated that Messenger and WhatsApp will follow  marketing list  the same path to ‘monetization’. Companies will have significantly more opportunities in the coming years to reach new customers and get in touch with their users.
